GMS (Recordings) Limited has been in the music and communications business since its formation in 1976 in a management buy-out of the then Philips Background Music Division in the UK. Since then it has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of Background and Foreground Music in all avenues of business. It is still today a family business, run by the McRae family with Finlay McRae as its Managing Director.

Winners of the John Logie Baird award for technical innovation with our unique software application for background music, the company has long enjoyed a close relationship with some of the leading retailers and leisure operators in the UK today. Our association with electronics giant Philips, our own in-house expertise, and direct input from our customers keeps GMS at the cutting edge of music management technology and technical excellence.

The success of GMS lies in our partnerships with our customers. GMS customer services department is available 9am - 9pm, 7 days a week, via a manned helpline and is backed by the resources of our technical department, our studio team, accounts management and administration, ensuring a unique level of care, quality control and service support for every site.
