send video, music or spoken messages through your hardware
(these formats are all just data to our system) and our
software will automatically detect how it should be handled.

faster turn around time than other POS mediums. Your message
can be distributed as fast as an e-mail. If the supermarket
has too many kippered herrings we can highlight the special
offer before they go off!

policy compliance" and it reflects the fact that if we have a
digital copy of your message it will certainly get played in
the sites you want at the time you specify. By comparison,
we're told, that over half the printed point of sale
advertising never sees the inside of the site

Historically adverts could be classes as broadcast, like TV,
which gave the same message everywhere, or narrow cast, like a
printed poster, which could be site specific. Broadcast was
cheap per person but the "one size fits all" messages would
rarely be relevant to all. Narrowcast allows messages to be
highly relevant for the prospective customer but is a
relatively expensive format. We can offer the benefits of both
but with better economics than traditional
formats.
Malcolm and the marzipan
Audio
point of sale advertising is how our business began. Malcolm
McRae our company founder was a retailer who after Christmas
in 1962 discovered he had an excessive (10x peak seasonal
demand) inventory of marzipan. Marzipan is a seasonal product
and the season had passed. Malcolm liked playing taped music
in his premises and had the bright idea to tape an advert for
a "marzipan special offer" played occasionally between tracks.
Within days ten times the seasonal peak demand of marzipan had
been sold. Malcolm astounded by the power of point of sale
audio advertising left retailing and founded the longest
established audio service management company in the UK. Back
then Malcolm would give the music away free to retailers in
exchange for the right to sell advertising in their stores.
Much has changed since then and the power of audio point of
sale advertising has gone from strength to strength.
